Running Accomplishments:

As of yet I have NONE!  Though I have done a few 5k, 3k, and 10k walks.

Short-Term Running Goals:

In the next two years I'd like to be able to get in 5 miles five days a week.  I'd like to participate in a 10K run and actually run the whole thing.  I'd also like to participate in the Danskin Triatholon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Just working right now on the short term. I'd be happy right now to say I am a runner.

Personal:

As far as personal facts, nothing too exciting about me. I am a mother of four kids, love to blog about them and my personal feelings, which you can find me at 4kidsnodog.blogspot.com.  I am married.  I have a degree in education but haven't done any professional teaching in a long time.

This morning, I reluctantly got out of bed, and ran for 30 minutes, getting two miles in, which made me happy, few moments of walking but anyway happy with my little jog this morning. 

 

I stopped a little earlier because my kids were begging me to come up stairs and enjoy my birthday breakfast they fixed.

A little better. I woke up at 5 am and couldn't sleep. So I checked some email and then hopped on the treadmill.  After about .75 miles I just was done, too tired.  So I went outside in the pitch black and walked a little, not sure on miles there or yards rather so not counting them. 

 

Then I walked the whole family (two in umbrella strollers) to the bus stop and then walked, with one on shoulders and others in strollers for a mile.  My neighbor joined me and lucky for me helped me with some of the strollers.  Slow and steady wins the race right!

Last week was rough on me, mostly emotionally, and like I said exercises hasn't become my emotional out let YET....but this morning I brushed off the dust on my shoes, and got on the treadmill. I was tempted to go outside but the six inches of snow just discouraged me.  However I was able to get in some decent mileage for me this morning.  And going to go for a mile walk out in the snow, to take my son to the bus stop!

Every little bit counts, I keep telling myself.  Today I just took it outside. The winds were cold, and my hawaiian lungs froze.  I did jog most of the time, while pushing a child in the stroller.  I think my pace was actually faster than normal because I was FREEZING and my kids were little popsicles.  But I did it.

I couldn't roll over and sleep in bed, I think my body actually kind of likes getting up and exercising.  Though I have found it takes me about 20 minutes walking on the tread mill for my body to even think about jogging.  I was able to do a 13.20 mile non stop and then slow walks and jogs in between bringing me to the three miles. 

 

Another day down, several more to go.

Ok a little lazy but got to give me some credit, I was up all night with two sick kids and so hit the road with one in a stoller, who screamed the whole way.  At least I got out and up and moving.

And I thought going on the treadmill was hard! My son and I took our bikes out and road up and down the hills and through the neighborhood.  I don't think my upper thighs have worked like that before, or at least a while.

While watching Little Eisteins on Disney I did 2.25. I was so proud of myself and so were the little Eisteins...they cheered me on....kind of funny cuz the show was about a little lost caterpillar that was just going inch by inch very SLOWLY so they decided to help  her and anyway I felt like that little caterpillar and soon I will be a beautiful butterfly!!

 

But I warmed up for .40 miles by walking then did a slow jog (13 min) mile and half, and then cooled down the rest...I guess it was more like jogged 1.6...I think my best full jog yet.  I did pause to grab some water but stopped the clock.

Another good morning for me, even though I had eight eyes watching me and one little guy got a scrapping on his finger.  Again was able to jog the 1.5 miles at 4.8...pretty good for this old fat Please follow Fast Running Blog policy regarding vulgar language

This morning I woke up to screaming kids...why don't they want to sleep???? anyway so after getting them drinks and dry cereal at a quarter to six, I hopped on the tread mill. I really didn't want to and just did a .14 warm up and ran the rest of the mile. And just didn't feel like going anymore, plus not warming up my calves weren't too happy with me. 

 

Then when I dropped my son off at school I walked through the neighborhood with the neighbor, adding another two miles to the day.  I could have gone a little faster, but the company was better than getting my heart rate going...I am sweting a little bit so not too bad.

the weather was so nice yesterday morning.  i took my three younger kids for a walk, and at some point i jogged pushing the three kids (100 lBS).  I had a great time being outside.  I get more miles in that way but not sure about times, because I don't own a watch or any fancing meter thing, I just drove around the neighborhood to clock it.

This morning I dropped my son off at the bus stop, since my baby of 19months likes to wake up at 5:30 its been hard to get on the treadmill, and went for a jog/walk by myself.  Again  not sure about how much was walking vs running but I didn't it in a reasonable amount of time.  I love this warmer weather, though i don't like going it alone. Well childless yes, friend less partner less no!

After only a few hours of sleep, I barely made it out of bed and in time to babysit my sister's kids.  so this evening after  dinner my boys and I went for a walk, on in the stroller and one on his bike.  We had a good time. And sometimes I ran to keep up the bike.
